Psalm 50:17-23 prompted these thoughts...
I WILL NOT HATE INSTRUCTION.
I WILL THINK ABOUT GOD'S WORD.
I will not consent to the thief or take up with the adulterers.
I will not give my mouth to evil, or let my mouth speak lies.
For though correction may not come immediately,
GOD sees and is not
like humans. GOD is righteous and will set things aright and in order.
I will consider that GOD is holy and choose to do right actions.
I will offer praise to GOD and I will plan my path and talk correctly; therefore, I will see the salvation of GOD.
If you have not found e-sword.net, let me give it a shout. Have found this web page a great tool.
We have many of the books that are available on this site; but have found electronic study of the WORD...
time efficient and less cumbersome.
Thankful for the wonderful tools that are available to this generation.
This year, I was blessed with Granny's Bible.
My yearly goal is to read the BIBLE through each year, and I just finished yesterday.
Granny had this goal and what a joy it was to see her comments on family and events in the margin of her Bible.
Having the Bible, reminded me of Grandpa Tex's comments concerning it.
He did not allow anyone to lay anything on top of Granny's Bible.
Speaking of Grandpa Tex, his sister-in-law, wrote in her Bible as well. Her funeral service contained her notes on death.
When her Pastor read her notes on:
Psalm 23:4 Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
I was comforted.
In the margin of Doris' Bible were the words: "The shadow of a dog can not bite me."
She was not going to fear shadows...me either.
Perhaps next year, I will mark the margins of my Bible; instead of using a notebook or computer page.
Just have to say, thanks, to those who have gone before me;
serving God in the knowledge they had and passing their faith on to us.
