Our believing God, our faith, is what causes us to be able to walk through darkness and still be light. Faith affects every area of our lives. It is what enables us to be surrounded by sickness and isease and still be healed. Faith is what enables us to walk through danger, storms, and threatening situations unharmed.

Faith doesn't come by watching the news, reading the newspaper or having lunch with friends and talking about how bad things are. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. The God kind of faith generates spiritual power and blessing. It's believing before you can see or feel a natural manifestation. It's the kind you want to have. It comes by hearing the Word of God and believing it!

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
(Romans 10:17 NKJV)

This is my first post, I hope I am in the right place. If I`m not just tell me which way to go:) I have to comment on this article and say thank you. I think these passages that are quoted often get lost as we search for the exciting and soul stirring subjects such as prophesy, the rapture, etc. I love to start my day with prayer and Bible study, then "life happens". The thing is when I was trying to teach my young son about prayer and talking to Jesus all through out the day, I felt hypocrittical. We try to "pray continually" and in my prayers to God, He wouldn`t let me off the hook :) His Word says to pray continually and so I put little scriptures that I cut out of old magazines everywhere,(alot of them)!! inside drawers, pockets of jackets, you name it, I made sure I had some "spiritual food"! Even today when I am upset over a matter, Jesus lets me find one of His hidden scriptures, and it never fails to amaze me that the passage He leads me to is just what I need. Not just just to read and put it back. I got into a habit of keeping the piece of paper and when I had time I would read the passages before and after to get the full meaning of what I needed to know my Lord was telling me. I`m sure I don`t need to tell anyone how wonderfully awesome our God is when we do stay in His Word. How He makes sure we know He is keeping an eye on us!! Soon I was smiling in my heart as I thought about the way He thinks about us and is watching and listening to our hearts and the words we speak to others. No matter where we are at, what situation we are in, how precious it is that we can talk to our Father and leave troubles in His hands, and praise Him for the good things that He bestows on us. This is how I found your web site. I have over a period of years become disabled, and my church family has parted ways. People are busy, when I call a sister or brother on the phone, there always is another call it seems. Even though I use my waiting time by prayer or study, it seems the enemy thinks he is going to get me down when the person I called completely forgot I was waiting. My Father is faithful and satan has been defeated, so I pray for my "church family" and trust that I don`t cause any to stumble in my walk with Him. This system goes so fast and Gods Word warns us that we are not of this system, I pray our lights shine bright, as we walk thru this dark world that no evil dare come near the precious and powerful light of God that we carry in our hearts. Studying about anything and everything and making sure what I do is of God and even though I hurt from my "iniquity", I know how incredibly blessed I am that I have the time to study and have grown closer to my Father. I get lonely for Godly company and I pray that I might find a friend on this site who loves Jesus and though none of us is perfect, we can pick each other up and love our Lord with our word and faith. Thank you for this lovely article on the passages in Romans. God Bless,PraiseHim!! stacylynn

hello stacylynn, I read your blog and i identyfied with your situation. I became seriousely ill in 2003, to the point of death. Friends and church family went on their way. I spent months in bed and went months with only ny husband and nurse aid my only contact with the outside world. After everthing had been stripped from me, I found the only thing I have left is....my FAITH. I KNOW MY GOD is right beside me and will never, ever leave me. No matter the turbulant water rapids I have or will travel, My Heavenly Father is my Life Jacket that keeps me afloat and my head above water. He is the very air that I breath. It is HIM I cling to when I am in a whirlpool of darkness squeezing my life out of me seemingly. Yes faith is a marvelouse and needful in every area and walk in this life/world, and even more so as the end times fast approach us. Jude vs 19 & 20 tells us to build ourselves up on our most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Ghost..........So stand tall my sister and build thyself and thy faith ...pray inthe Holy Spirit. May the LORD bless you, Princess of the Kingdom of the Most High God. annah
